Garden News Corner

Members of the WCGC traveled to Philadelphia this past fall to lend a hand to The Philadelphia Garden Club in preparing the beds for the winter at The Magnolia Tribute Garden. The garden was established in 1959 at 4th and Locust Streets in Philadelphia, to honor the founding of our nation. Planted on site are 13 hybrid magnolias one each to represent the original colonies. Other plantings include Honey Locust, Narcissus Snow Azaleas, and English Oak to name a few. It is currently part of the National Park Service and is managed by the PCGCA.
